So what bikes have you had that just felt right straight away? Recently bought a Saracen race elite estay, got it with the intention of moving it on. Only problem was soon as I sat on it, it just felt right. Orange prestige good bye hello Saracen  So anyone else had that?

My Orange Clockwork & my modern Cube

Felt perfect on their 1st rides & still do

Other bikes I've had to fettle & adjust to get a good feeling but the Orange & Cube, got the grin factor straight away

My Orange Clockwork

Just proves how different we view bikes, hated my Clockwork, never known a bike flex so much, like trying to grapple with an eel

My ideal bike was a M2 Stumpjumper which many hated for being so stiff

'98 Kilauea.

Had a new one in '98, always considered it the best bike I've ever owned, lost it in a fire and yearned for another ever since.

Picked a replacement '98 Kilauea recently and it was/is ever bit as good as I remember.

Could say it's 'my lobster'

Trek 8700. Regret selling it for peanuts when i wanted a jump frame in the late 90s!!

Hoping for the same from my (as yet unridden) 9800...

My Salsa a la carte before it got nicked, and my Fuquay custom but then it should as it was made to fit me  worst bike was my Marin Team Ti, hated it and sold it after 2 months!

That may simply be because you weigh more than Andy B.

I am near 16 stone and have legs like tree trunks and I love the Clockwork! If you found it flexy perhaps it was the cranks and bars? There is flex, but it seems to be working for you rather than against you, if you get what I mean.

I am going to be even more of a tool and mention my first ride on a Klein Adroit.

It was before the real hype, but it seemed to be alive and was more like floating through space than riding a bike.

Lots of substance abuse back then I must admit.

My 98 Schwinn Moab 1. Like them so much that I bought a used frame just a few weeks from being scrapped and resurected it to one sweet ride.
