Bike*

Was this frame available in this colourway with a number tag in the catalogue? Ie if it exists like that then by default it is a team bike? We sold a lo-pro one of these many moons ago, went to Colombia!

The closest thing in the 1995 Merckx catalogue is the MX-Leader – which is not SLX tubing, and has the usual Merckx branding, not Caloi, so I don't think they made an actual team replica, just used the team colours on this model. So, yes, I suspect by default it is a team bike (unless it's been faked, which obviously is possible, but seems unlikely to me).

If it was specifically Armstrong's bike, I'm pretty sure it would have his name on the top tube:

I was tempted,
but a singe photo,
a single word as description,
and a reserve like its got provenance-
is too much.

Reserve not met, maybe next time?

My size and if I were to move the lightspeed on, I could find space at home😇

I went 800 just in case there was a bargain to be had. Reserve was 1200.

Lance or not, it’s an ex-team bike (number hanger, sticker, backstory) dripping in DA for the price of an off the peg MX Leader frame. Even at 1200 seems a good deal. I’m out but damn tempting.

Let us know if they list it again - I could bid against you, just to help it reach reserve obvs😉

I think the shonky title and single photograph, plus super low feedback, means it's more of a gamble -
1200 would be a fair price if you inspected it first.

That way if it turned out to be a 1/4 scale model or a photograph, you'd not be surprised.

If it's Lance's bike, you'd put that in the title.

If lance's bike is in a museum, then someone would report it to ebay and they'd take it down.
