Bike weights

What range would you expect a campag equipped (SR) steel framed bike to weigh in at? Say mid 80s era

From memory 22lbs was a good marker for a 531/slx road bike = 10kg
Maybe 20lbs for a road bike where effort was made to reduce weight
Under 20lbs was time trial bike with 28 spoke wheels, alloy freewheel and 300gramme rims and 753 tubing

21-22 llbs was ball park figure for a quality steel road bike with good quality parts - that was spring balance weights (pre digital) ;-)

My earlier bikes are in that range but I have a late 90s 531c bike with Record Ti 9 speed that weights in at 10.5Kg. I think its the wheels that are doing it (Mavic CPX30 aero rims).

Too true. Lost count of how many carbon bikies have picked up my 753 and sneered.
They are utterly weight obsessed but, strangely, don't pick up their own bike with two full water bottles fitted then decided to go back indoors.

PDM Concorde Record Open Pro 9.45kg
Colnago Master X lite with Record, tubs etc 8.20kg
753 Peugeot Chorus 9.15kg
Pinarello Montello C Record with tubs 9.61kg
