Russ77: I just measured my laptop, it's nearly the exact same size. It's actually the bag i use for my laptop because it fits snugly inside, with room for charger and a harddrive. Then a couple of extra small pockets allow room for ipod, wallet etc. I can usually squeeze a hoody in there as well. It's nice and comfy as well, the hip belt will help with the backache. If you're cycling the reflective bits are a nice addition and there's a raincover inside the bottom.
For me, bad points are the hip belt isn't removable, but i usually tuck it between the bag and by back and the outside pockets are just a bit too small for a protein shaker.
I wanted to use it as a walking rucksack, but it's just a tad too small to fit lunch, 2 peoples waterproofs and water. I like it for uni though.
