I go for the Gleiss!
Modern looking indeed but I think the tires make look it modern. And even so, if this looks like this in '95 and still looks modern today.... wow!

Another month, more nice bikes. There should be a 1st, 2nd & 3rd poll position – here's my shortlist...

sandmangts' 1936 Elgin – real craftsmanship in a proper build on a truly vintage frame that now looks a radical modern shredder.

mr_ship's 1986 Salsa Scoboni – shear quality retrobike heaven class.

DynaCol's 95 Orange C16R – I like Oranges and love this C16r.

Dossa's 1990 Ridgeback 704XT – bitd as a skint student, I used go through the catalogues wishing I could afford one.

Nader's 1991 Merlin Titanium – shiny monochrome dream.

videojetman's 1988 peugeot alpina – this really does sum up a retrobike.

Top four of these could be my BoTM. But the Elgin swings it because of the craftwork that went into building it. However, there is a recently posted bike that should be an equal contender with mr_ship's 1986 Salsa Scoboni, and this is rogue's 1986 Fisher Montare (see the pic). May be next month then.

It comes down to the Salsa or Bonty for me - both great bikes/builds.

Really like the Elgin too.

I'm going with Gruff's 1997 Karma Kona U'hu, since it's a lovely job and was a busted karma frame.

Top job Gruff!

Must say though what a fantastic selection this month! All of them absolute crackers, and a real tough choice! :D

Wooo Hoooo i got a vote!!!!!!
Thanks Matt :D

Pretty amazing when its in amongst some fantastic builds.
Still not voted, need to give it more thought .

I lake the gleiss, very nice ;)

My dream bike is the XLM but this time I vote annother.

I think this month has set the 'average' entry level to a new zenith.

I haven't got a clue, some boutique loveliness and some real OMG I so wanted one of those....

Well done every entry really impressive

You are going to put a mass produced bike with the dork disc still attached and tires that don't match up against a custom made fillet brazed Salsa Scoboni?

You lost me there but PM me, I have that same green Fisher frame in the garage. I took it apart as a donor bike a year or so ago. Not as pretty as the frame you pictured but you can have it for the cost of shipping and a little patience.

I know nothing about the Gleiss but it looks pretty boss. I wish the Salsa had a better pic since the bike and build is just superb. The Bonty is hot as well and I do have a weakness for a nice wishbone.... tough choices!
