Where, Ive seen fake Pinarello, but not fake shimano etc
Alibaba is full of it, it's making it's way into eBay, but they seem to be doing a slightly better job of dealing with it......... usually low end stuff.

Show me what you consider to be Fake Shimano and /Or Sram.

There are hundreds of companies manufacturing, similar, or even copied Hyper glide cassettes etc, all at lower costs. eBay Alibaba etc.

What i dont see, are items for sale from these companies, labeled Shimano/Sram etc etc

I.E Fake GOODS.

Well, i've seen pictures of fake shimano chains (HG73 IIRC). Spelling mistakes on the package for starters. Arrived with a shimano marked quick link IIRC. (shimano don't do 9 speed quick links)

I've actually held a pair of fake Avid Elixir brakes, casting so porous that you had leaks through the actual body of the caliper...... take them apart and they looked very swiss (cheese) like.

Both sourced from Ali express. Chains were about $4 each, brakes were $30. A pair.

It may or may not be the case, however it does seem a little far fetched that they have given permission, that would mean they are produced under Licence and would be taking a cut.
He could start branding frames with other companies logos, that would be interesting.

Can you tell me who your drug dealer is please? He’s obviously got some mega hallucinogen stuff.

I’m late to the party on this, so I’m glad Tim has shot you and your spurious BS down in flames. Utter nonsense.

Give it a rest hey pal, talk about missing the boat! Tim did a great job of explaining the situation most graciously and I dont think he needs you to help him do this, think it may be you who is on the drugs!

Re:

I helped Tim out selecting photos for his 2020 calendar (and when I say 'helped', that's a very loose term). I remember Tim making changes because he had contacted every manufacturer of the bikes used to get permission to use their logos on the calendar. Most agreed, a couple were a little funny and Tim made changes accordingly.

Re:

Come on fellas No need, the OP had a question, it was answered, as we all had hoped, and can benefit.

Its a Win Win.

End.

Hi All
I'll be the first to admit that there have been a few that were borderline, most of those have already been shelved and I'm constantly working on bringing in more and more covering the brands that are currently not represented. Its been the biggest challenge since I started to get companies to put faith in a complete unknown to allow me to represent their brand and I've been really chuffed that so many have placed their trust in me.

https://www.bike-ninja.co.uk/brands/
All of the brands that are listed on this page are all official and for every sale the owner of the brand gets a license fee per item sold. In some cases the brand wasn't bothered so a charitable donation is made. However all have given full permission.

Fingers crossed as things build I'll be able to add more brands as I go. There are so many ranges that I have that will possibly not even see the light of day and thats simply as I won't do it without the companies full backing. There are a few exceptions with some branding where companies no longer exist but even then I will try and contact someone that was part of it or seek additional advice where possible.

If anyone feels they have any issue with any design though please drop me a line. I'm not a big company like some people seem to think, its just me doing every aspect of the work from design to production. Likewise if there is any area you would like to see then let me know as I'll always try.

Just to add that the license agreements that are in place between myself and the brands specifically list the products that are allowed. Thats something that I have added to ensure the protection of the brand and that the arrangement isn't abused.

Thanks Tim

Any chance of a creating a T-shirt with a Zaskar bike sketch and the slogan “is this a Zaskar?”
