big dog retrobike winners

I believe that to be a show winner at the big dog RACE should be a bike that is raced at the big dog or atleast can be shown to have been raced.
There are to many so called "bikes" that are actually sculptures, surely we are all cyclists and have the passion for bikes because of the enjoyment of riding them!
That should put the cat amongst the pigeons, How does every one feel?
even a onederdog lap would qualify.

I really need to add a yawn smiley to this board.

Crazy notion for a crazy debate. I'm not sure if that's been discussed about 500 times on here before.

The Big Dog BEST IN SHOW prize was given to THE BEST IN SHOW. As opposed to BEST IN RACE. See the difference?

Here's one for you

Yep. And I really should have won both last year.

Bloody Saracens.

Bloody fit people.

you were dead right there mate, i didn't want to win the best in show but i do like to see bikes be bikes.Take the overbruys ridden by jeff at the mountain mayhem when he lead for the whole of the first lap, thats a proper bike being used for its intended purpose.
He always keeps it real and i don't care what he says, eating is not cheaating!

It's an age old debate and one that'll never be resolved. If people want to ride the sh*t out their stuff - cool. If people want to hang it on a wall and look at it - equally cool.

I've seen Geoffrey demolish a mixed grill like a ravenous hyena. If eatin's cheatin' then he's Richard Virenque. Creidt for the Overburys' lap though.

not saying that people shouldnt cherish their machine just that it is a retro race and after last year when graham did a top ride on his salsa and paid to support the event i think that it would make it good if people did a onederdog to gain entry for the judging. not just turn up to a race and take prizes. by the way i am not having a go at the guys who got the result last year. there definately is a place for concours but not sure this event is it

Uh?? As I remember it - all the retro show winners were all on track later...

(2nd place in Concours - Yeti Ultimate/last place in race Ultimate and Marin Ti)
