Bianchi Specialissima

Several years of scrounging and collecting bits , nearly finished ( I've got to glue the tubs on ). Sort of a late 80's team replica but I guess the bars/stem should be 3ttt and the rims Ambrosio. I made a dogs dinner of the bar tape :roll:

Lovely. Retro bike rules stipulate that you'll need to drop it off round my house though if you don't set about recreating that photo immediately

Great looking bike, is the frame SLX? And any idea on year?

Thanks for the comments. It is SLX ( '89 I think but Bianchi serial numbers are a bit of an unknown ). Certainly later than '86 as it has the World Champ decal. C-Record throughout except for the seat pin which is probably Athena or Chorus. Rims are a great pair of Mavic SSC from someone on this forum. Cobalto calipers. I've been after a headset for some time. Bought a couple off ebay but they were trashed. One had been fitted with a different size of bearings so it had two rows of dimples in the bottom cup .
