BFE replacement...Stanton Slackline

Re:

Hope the bruising has gone down!

I'm on the lookout for a slackline frame, they seem to rarely be sold on though (as I'm too tight to buy a shiny new one)... must be good.

It's sorted itself out one but confidence has gone a bit which is frustrating me a lot.

They're rally good frames, personally I prefer it to the BFe, it's good fun mucking about on but is capable of some mileage too. I not what you mean about them not coming up for sale all that often.

Few updates to the Stanton.

Firstly it's now 10 speed and running a Zee clutch rear mech, Zee 10 speed shifter, the old XT cassette and Sram chain from the Rune. I've also added an orange Race Face narrow wide ring in place of the chain guide. It's made a huge difference to the noise the bike makes....it barely makes any now. The chain slap and mech clatter has gone as has the rubbing from the guide.

I've also added a 65mm Easton Havoc stem which has given me a bit more room in the top tube and again is a huge improvement. The Charge saddle had to go too - it was just too wide and for more distance rides, it just hurt.

It's my main bike at the mo because the Devilles on the Rune need some professional TLC due to them leaking from the damper side top cap. The more I've ridden the Stanton the more I like it. So much so that I've questioned the need for the Rune.....I really fancy the Ti version!

Here are some pics from a great ride on some of the Cannock off piste stuff.

The last picture is actually much steeper and rootier than the pics make it look.

I'm that thinking that I may add some Ice Tech rotors soon because on a steep section with lots of nasty drops to roll / navigate the brakes got super hot (it's too steep / tight to drop off them).

Cheers buddy.

I love the forks too and was really surprised when I picked them up on eBay for not too much money.

Re:

It's a great build.

I see stanton are considering a 650 version but like that they are continuing on 26"

Cheers.

That's the Switchback which is a super slack mid wheeler. If I do sell the bouncy bike they're on the list if I can't/don't stretch to a Ti jobbie.

Caught up with this... Ouch, how is your shoulder? I'm still out of geo slightly and apparently it's frozen too I'm locked in NHS admin at present but i can do most things, did you get in a state?
:-/ Hope you recovered well, also you don't look exactly like I'd imagined! :D
Nice to see the Slackline still evolving, I still really fancy one I reckon the geometry and sizing will be better for me, but... I'm getting the Bfe 2.0 built first, almost there. Orange C ring is genius why didn't I think of that when I ordered a black one?!!!

Hmmm, liking the look of the Stanton. From experience I don't think you can beat the zee mech/NW ring combination you've got on there.

Hope the head and shoulder are mending. Did you do that with a helmet on - must have been a hell of a knock. I spent ten hours in A&E yesterday as the skin around one of the wires in my wrist has become infected. It feels horrible but I've got some strong antibiotics now...

Can't wait to get back on the bike.

Not quite sure how to take that....what were you imagining? Or daren't I ask....

All healed now...can still be a bit of a girl on the bike. I like the orange bits...the idea kind of stolen from you. What size is BFe 2.0? Is it as well as or instead of the other one?
