Best tyres for sandy pine forest terrain?

BITD when I raced at Thetford Forest, which as REKIBorter says is quite sandy, I used to ALWAYS use Ritchey Megabite Z-Max in 1.75.

Goes against everything everyone says above, but I did used to get very good results

Last time I used a Zmax at thetford, I fell off...

Swinley tyres............
I'm using Maxxis Ignitors and they work very well. Go for good quality, softer compounds and high tpi.
Other options are Small Block 8s, HighRollers and Hutchinson Pythons. all work well in loose-over-hardpack.

I'd use Conti 1.5 x country. Very knobbie and thin to cut through

Good call.
I had a set of these in the early noughties, they were great in North Downs mud too, perfect for ploughing a neat furrow.

Swinley was a nightmare on my modern epic with its stock specialized fast tracks.

When wet the place turns to a thick emulsion. Played havoc on the various seals and pivots on the bike too...not a great fan of the place.
