Best Tools I Ever Bought

Useless tools we should never have bought:

Basically, if you can't seat a tyre with your hands, you won't be able to seat it with this tool.

Maybe it's for people without hands, but it's hard to imagine how that would work
This is definitely the worst tool I've seen in a long time. Does not do what it says on the tin. I watched a plucky young mechanic at our lbs trying to show off using it. There was blood....

Indeed - having got it out, I'm thinking of taking the matter up with park
- because although I find a lot of their tools inferior to cheaper alternatives, their customer service is good and human
- a rarity nowdays.

So I will tell them it just doesn't work and report back.

Let's see if they ask me to produce the invoice of the original sale...

is years old and hasn't worn off because it only takes a new mechanic a single use to discover how useless it is)

Hahaha 🤣 Always quality shop floor stories chez Bikeworkshop

It's the kind of tool you could actually do yourself an injury with. I bought this lot yesterday for 25 quid, some nice VAR tools and the effortlessly useful chain hanger for the rear drop out. Well happy 😊

Chain hanger centre, the bronze tool is actually a vintage 1940s cable cutter. Still chopping away Like a good un!

This is a VAR 32, supposed to be a great tube reamer and facer but I think it's missing some parts. Anyone?

Looks like it's the self- tightening bb cup remover, missing the cupped tool that sits over the bb face
Although the spring is a feature of a bb facer, but you'd need a longer bolt to reach the cone fitted into the other side to keep the cutter parallel.
Usually a bb of headset face will have a sleeve to keep the tool aligned - so with those long handles, I'm thinking remover.

Has no one mentioned the Campagnolo 8mm box spanner 6mm allen key combination T tool?

Mine is wrapped in a plastic bag along with puncture kit, spanners, allen keys, tyre levers, inner tube etc, and strapped under my saddle

On my commute it fell off from my bike and I only noticed it when I arrived, so in a panic I went back 6 miles to try to find it. Luckily I knew exactly where it dropped because someone in a car overtaking me was making gestures at me, I didn't realised they were trying to tell me something had fallen from my bike. When I got there, at least one car had ran over it, the glue from the puncture kit had splattered everywhere but all the metal tools survived, the T tool had some scratches but I was relieved I got it back!

I think it's a Frankenstool, with bits from a few tools mashed up. Unless anyone knows any different...?
