Best Tools I Ever Bought

Tidy Hozan chain tool, looks indestructible
It seems that way! It’s a good design with the support plate being wider (it is also spring loaded so self adjusts to chain width). And should anything go wrong, you can replace parts down to every bolt. It even comes with some spares, which a neatly stashed in the handle.

Park vs Campagnolo.

We've got both these. I've used them both 100s of times.
The park tool is heavy, overcomplicated, bits fall off it, ugly.
Everything park does badly in a single tool. I dislike it so unreasonably that my colleagues keep it out of my sight.

The campagnolo tool is light, simple, solid and tactile.
Everything campagnolo (occasionally) does right.
I force my youthful colleagues to use and appreciate its ergonomics and elegance.

Some nice old tools there....Sadly britool, kasama etc are all now trading on their name these days. The old stuff is indestructible and just Class tools.

Tbh, ive found the US Pro stuff now seems no different. Except for the price!

Haha I see. I bought an analogue Draper Expert branded vernier caliper when I was a model design student 20 years ago and it's still going strong after many years of professional use. Mitutoyo is my digital caliper preference these days.

I actually have that Park alignment tool, and I agree with everything you say. Clunky, ugly, fiddly to use, horrible little o rings that seemed to split after using it twice. Sadly I don't true hangers quite enough to warrant a better one. 😅

SNAP!

Mitutoyo calipers for me too. 👌
AND
100% agree with you on the Park hanger alignment headf**k tool 😱 I got one as I need one quickly and it is a right faff to use. It's always so clunky to use. Yes it works, but there is no joy from using it, which good tools should give you.
