Best Saddle Ever!

Another Flite user here. Over the years I've ridden various sorts - Brooks Swallow, Professional and Team Professional, Concor, Turbo, Unicanitor - to name a few but the Flite just feels 'right' to the point that after not being able to get on with 3 or 4 no-name modern saddles I tried I hunted eBay for an original 1990s gel Titanium for my general use bike to match the one on my Master. There's a slightly different 90s Titanium model on the MTB but as I hardly ever ride that it doesn't really count.
I think the Flite suits a lighter rider, ie under 90kg! I used a Flite for years on my trusty 979 and toured extensively in Italy with it and it was faultless. My pal on the other hand can't get on with them at all, but he's a big heifer at 99kg!

I like the Flite Pirate Pantani versions, but I do not like the prices....🤣🤣🤣

Definitely the case.
Saddle shape, flex and feel become far more critical with larger riders, and higher bars and/or shorter "reach"

I was 78kg when I was nipping around on my 979 (which took a beating like no other bike I've owned!) even now at 84kg it's still an incredibly comfortable saddle. Probably too narrow for the 'more robust' if cyclists though.

But it's so sad that his promotion as "rock-star" cyclist put him at heights he could not safely descend from when his career was waning😪
We actually had the privilege of riding with him some 20 years ago in the Tony Ringer one day classic in Switzerland.

He looked absolutely tiny in the bike, I nearly knocked him off when I shook his hand! When the ski station of Crans Montana appeared though, he shot off the front and claimed the finish by 7 minutes on the next best rider.

We limped in 45 minutes later, by which time he was on his way back to Italy! Tragic end to a great career though, reminds me a little of Millar - a great rider but without the savvy and experience to handle the media attention and everything that comes with it.

Got to love the colours on the Charge Spoon range

Selle Italia Turbo. THE saddle for the bigger rider, tested by some of the biggest arses in the business 😂
