Lucas Nickel plated carbide lamp

Nickel, carbide Lucas bicycle lamp c.1920. Nickel carbide bowl, water bowl on top of carbide bowl. Glass front with wick behind. On either side of light are the green lenses. The heat vent has got the trademark LUCAS printed. On the back of heat vent is the No.133. A metal hinge attaches the lamp to the bicycle.

Brass carbide bicycle lamp. Brass carbide bowl, water bowl on top of carbide bowl. Glass front lens with wick behind. A round window on either side of light casing with emerald green glass. Trade mark "King of the Road" on top of the heat vent.

On the back side of the heat vent is the No.326 along with "JOSEPH LUCAS LIMITED, BIRMINGHAM" engraved. A metal hinge attaches the lamp to the bicycle. Brass tightening screw with the words "JOS. LUCAS LTD. BIRMINGHAM" written on it.

Brass bicycle lamp. A tank to hold the fuel (kerosene). It has side windows - green on the right and red on the left. Kerosene wick lamp. The heat vent has a name plate with the words "JOS. LUCAS LTD. SILVER KING BIRMINGHAM".

The front glass is hinged with a clip. It has a hinged back to the lamp which give access to the reflector and access to the wick for trimming.

Brass carbide Lucas Bicycle lamp. Brass carbide bowl, water bowl on top of carbide bowl. Glass front is cracked. Lens with wick behind. On either side of the lamp there is an emerald green glass.

A trademark on top of the heat vent. No.143 written on the back side of the heat vent. On the base the inscription "LAMP IS FULLY PROTECTED BY LETTERS PATENT".
