I didn't realize that.I'm Canadian and we pronounce Loch with a hard ch so it sounds the same as Lock. Whereas putsch has a softer shhhh sound at the end which I think it the sound you're describing
That's it, that's the soundI didn't realize that.I was just assuming I was talking to Brits. I have to add that the ch is the Scottish ch, the British ch is harder, as Kay says. But the soft g or the scottish ch is not a shhh sound.
