Best all round bottom bracket

Hi all

I've not seen a post about the best all round bottom bracket unit. What's your suggestion / preference. I usually fit what I have that fit's the frame I have but maybe you have a recommendation for both new and old Retrobikers. BB-UN71 maybe or a BB-UN55 ? Over to you guys and gals.
 
RaceFace Taper lock stainless, the one with the red cups, been running a couple of these for years now with no complaints, fully adjustable for chain line and 68/73 compatible.

I like the RaceFace taperlock and Royce at the blingier end of things but in reality you can't go wrong with a UN-71/72 or the Tange LN-7922 as mentioned above. Aside from a few grams in weight, they both last for ages and are relatively cheap. The Royce/Raceface do have easily replaceable bearings though.
 
UN71/72 are sensible. They feel nice and last forever.
Almost forever. (10,000 miles+ possible)
Which is a lot longer than octalink isis and ht2,
although heavy riders leaving the ground (and landing again) showed us the weakness of square taper... and it wasn't the bb!
