This sounds stupid, but I have a frame arriving soon, and I was thinking - has anyone ever made a belt driven mountain bike?
There's quite a few folders about, and it'd make an interesting project.
Or should I stop right now?

The thing is with the drive shafts are, They are limited to one ratio. The belt drive is more customizable. the drive shaft is really heavy. They say the belt is lighter but when you have those rings they just add way more weight. You need to do more research before you start something horrible.

Chains are cool and here to stay.

I think I am right in saying that you will have to break the frame to fit a belt (unless its an e-stay frame)

That P7 was tested in Singletrack last year sometime...
