Been out of the full suss game - Marin FRS XC shock?

Whilst this has been my 4th or 5th Marin FRS (B-17, Mt. Vison, etc) frame, I've never had one with a duff shock

Whats a good replacement?

All I can remember is the Fox Vanilla R that I stupidly sold ages ago...

dependent on the i-2-i length, air or coil. quite a few shock options. ebay or here fox, x fusion, manitou, rockshox

Safest option is an air Fox imo. Float, RP2, RP23 etc.
