Not the first gen u-braked but the slightly later Canti'd one fitted with XCE I think, is it worth having for nothing?

Ignore the first reply, thats just the usual Raleigh prejudice.
You get a cromo frame with good geometry, a good handling rigid bike :D
Specially worth it if your getting it for nothing, make a good pub bike at least :cool:

What he said + if you don't like it as a cheap hack you can always get shot of it on here, might get you a few quid or Karma points!
 
501 steel, thick paint, and rigid geometry- I'd say it's worth having. But then I'm prejudiced - I've got a canti'd one, too. Picked it up from the local bike charidy place for £30. It's coming along a treat. :D

Montage was my very first MTB, had the U brake version back around '89 before I stepped up to my Muddy Fox Courier Comp
