Been a long time, but I'm popping back in...

Re: Welcome back

And perfect timing. I just joined this sight in my search to rebuild my 1996 Judy XC. I have been out of biking for 14 years due to a back injury and just started to dust off my bikes that have been garaged for the last 14 years. I am the original owner of a 1996 RTS 1 that I am trying to restore. I have been tried some local shops and called a few suspension only shops in the US and have gotten nowhere. So I decided to try this on my own, I have found I can get the old elastomers which were dust when i pulled the top tube caps. I also found the service manual for the 96 XC but according to the manual I should just have to remove the bottom screws and the lower forks should just pull off( which is not happening). The service manual refers to the owners manual for a parts and exploded view which i have been unable to find anywhere. I really do not want to screw this up since I have found that parts are almost non existent. I want to try and keep this bike as original as possible and since I don't have boatloads of cash to spend trying to redo everything just to get back on the trails. I saw you had posted a guide years ago for this and am looking for any assistance you could provide. Any and all help from all will be greatly appreciated. I have loaded a few photos of what I have removed from the top forks at this point along with a shot of the bike. https://www.dropbox.com/sc/ebchifn86xpw ... VjhI1fr5ka
Thanks,
Krazykody
