Bear Valley back on road

Hi All
Finally got my Bear Valley back together and after changing the outer and middle rings working ok.
First attempt at posting pictures so "bear" with me!

Cool paintjob, interesting to see one thats not grey and Fluo! (ducks...)

According to the serial# stamped under the bottom bracket its a 1990 bike.
Bought it new in 94 at a decent discount from a shop in Italy while on vacation so its possible that the paint job was specific for that market.
The frame is in need of restoration but how do i better that colour scheme?

I think it's a 91 as it has the fat / after burner rear stays

Not a Marin expert but i've never seen one like that, as you said it was probably continental market only so could be very rare or even unique in the UK.

Paint would be very hard to replicate so i'd leave it alone as suggested

Don't think Marin started on the zolatone until 1991. Certainly recall seeing Marins with non-zolatone paint around this time. A friend had a team with a similar paint style. Here's another team with a similar finish > http://www.retrobike.co.uk/gallery2/mai ... emId=42456

Nice looking frame. Be nice to see it with original kit on (full 500lx?). Regardless just ride it

I agree, do what you have to do to make the bike feel more comfy, but .... keep the current paint job, don't change it at all ... it looks fab!! [/u]
