Ride of My Life

I took the Royce hubs to California with me. Brian Rourke was strongly recommended them. Brian used to make bikes for Nicolle Cooke when she a junior world champ and she always used Royce apparently. Gravy had never built up a pair of Royce hubs, but he was full of admiration for them. He thought they were beautiful.

No plans for any more tv docs at the moment. We're working on it though.

its such a shame Chris King doesn't do interviews.

The only disappointment in the whole prog imo..

For no other reason than it made him sound a bit prima donna and that blows..

Top telly and the first cycling prog I've ever seen..

Good to see an enthusiastic, bike-positive piece of television, with enough joyful riding footage to balance out the consumer porn.

My favourite sequence was the Repack ride with Joe and Charlie, even if the soundtrack was a little over-dependent on Creedence Clearwater Revival. Still, it made a change from that monotonous Luka Bloom dirge.

About halfway through, that "long eevity" nearly made me post a "wtf?" but it was pronounced correctly later in the programme. I wonder if someone had a quiet word. Or did I mishear?

I'd love to hear more about that old round-the-world frame...

this is true, when i worked for BBC 2-3 they read these comment out int he weekly channel meetings.

I love seeing people who love bikes as much as we all do. Awesome.

great show indeed. Just picked up your book and looking forward to reading it.

How are you getting on with the bike now you've put in a few miles on it? Do you rate the 953? Interesting to see the wrap around seatstays on that Rourke, have a 531 Rourke that must pre-date yours by at least 25 years with identical stays.

Left a comment with the BBC, hope they commision more from you. Are you working on a cycling project currently?
