Bb troubles please help .

Hiya folks .
I have a 98 kona Hei Hei with a sm-bb52 68-73mm
Xtr m970 chainset but even with the one spacer on non drive side and two on the drive side I still have about 3-4 mm crank shaft play/movement side to side
Please help...

Is the movement in the bb/axle interface? The m970 cranks are lovely, but if fitted badly or run loose, the splines can get chewed up and you get play. No fix for this other than a new non drive arm.

have you tried to set the bearing preload with the adjuster on the non drive side?

That should of load up the bearing, not dial out play but you never know.
