Bargain basement Carbon CX build

I'm hoping to do the same thing with an Alan Cyclo-cross frame. At some point the aluminium forks went awol but have been replaced with a very nice matched steel set. All in it cost me a hundred quid. Including a nice headset. Now, period group set or some functional modern kit 🤑

I missed the final update somehow. Looks good!

I did a similar build with an alloy mtb frame and 10-speed 105 with TRP Eurox cantis. It was a bit of an experiment build at the time, but I kept it like that for ages, probably for the same reasons as you, because it was super comfy and just floated over even the worst road surfaces.

Thanks all,

The rear wheel was condemmed by me some months ago as the rim was bent from a trip up the ridgeway in September. Surprisingly the tubeless tyres didn't come unseated and I only discovered it a few days later.

I bent the rim back with a pair of pliers, which worked somewhat but I knew I needed a replacement. Managed to find a hunt 4 season wheel on ebay yesterday so I'll relegate the old wheel to the turbo trainer once it's setup.

Tempted to get some amber walls too...
