Bargain basement Carbon CX build

Saw the frameset on ebay recently and nabbed it. Seller works for Kinesis and believes it to be an old team frame from the morvelo/kinesis CX team.

Was accurately described; tired but not broken and needing some TLC.

Today my LBS removed the crusty canti posts and trimmed the steerer. It came with nice looking TRP Eurox magnesium calipers but they were knackered and all broke off when trying to remove them!

Anyway, I'm awaiting new headset bearings and canti posts and I can finish it off. Crank, chain and mech fitted tonight. Should be a straightforward build! 1x10 Shimano 105 gearing with Tektro CR720 calipers.

The canti posts I ordered were M8 but turns out I need M10, and, the new headset bearings arrived and the steering was still stiff. Turns out I needed a thin spacer above the compression ring so that was all sorted and it steering feels spot on now.

One step forward and two back 😂

hit a snag earlier in the week. Connecting up the rear brake, go to test it and the cable stop on the top tube comes away! fortunately no carbon damage as the cable stop is riveted to the top tube and possibly also bonded to a piece of metal on the frame. So i need to get it to a LBS that can re-rivet and bond it back to the top tube...

Should be an easy job. Worth buying your own riveting tool in my opinion. I bought a Forge one about 20 years ago for about £10 and I've used it lots of times.
