Barcelona - Good hotels?

Hotels

Hi

I stayed in the Fira Palace a couple of years ago. (check that spelling!)

Pretty plush - huge rooms.

Don't eat there though - theres a place you can grab breakfast right across the street.

Thanks.....that looks like a possible, has good reviews on Trip Advisor :)

Hotel HCC OPEN is a nice budget option, pretty close to the action but able to offer very peaceful nights should you wish, I would also recomend the bar at the far end of the University square which is close by.

I often spend a night there on the return leg of my annual spanish festival tour.

i used to drive down to barcelona fairly often whilst living in toulouse,

depends who you are going with, there are a fair few hotels on la ramblers to suit most budgets and its quite central to the night life.

the olympic port is the best place to go out, lots of bars next to eachother, again to suit most budgets and tastes.

the zoo is pretty awful if you are bothered animal rights (as are the bird cages on the ramblers) although the aquarim / sea life centre is pretty good. and of course the catherdral is worth a visit, but if you suffer from vertigo or claustrphobia do not climb the towers ( i suffer from both  ).

I go there a few times for work reasons. I stayed in a few and the best for a balance of price and comfort is tv Hotel Gran Via. I think you will like it's location too.
