This incessant hounding of my posts is getting out of hand.

You and several others have put 2+2 together and made 5 and created some conspiracy theory and are now stuck in confirmation bias.

I will simply leave if you all will keep harassing me like this and I am sure you will be happy. It begins to outweigh the helpful posts.

Yes I post a lot. Yes I am obsessive about things I like. No it doesn't mean I am some nefarious 'sock puppet' account of some aggrieved old user. I guess little I can write will change the people's minds who have already decided this and anything more I say is 'further proof'.

I understand that bar ends are like marmite…..but, some onza stubbies will feature on my 94 zaskar catalogue build. Question is, to fit them, how acceptable is it to just cut down the grips, currently some nice tioga grips? At the moment, I can’t bring myself to cut the grips down.

Why would you cut down the grips ? I've always just slid everything in on the handlebar 3/4" or so to allow the bar end room to clamp on.

The Tioga grips I have are not open ended and the bar end area, if that makes sense, so I’d have to cut the end open to fit the bar ends.

A lot of grips came closed- ended, the manufacturer expected you to tap round the end of the bar to cut a perfect hole in the grip if you wanted to slide it on further.
Of course once you've done that you're committed.

Weird I never thought to do that, I just always bought open ended grips because I wanted to use them with bar ends.

Just had a mad thought, did any of you ever fit grips on your bar ends ?
I considered it but never tried it because I only ever use the bar ends when climbing and didn't really need the extra cushioning and given how beat up the outsides of my bar ends get the grips would soon have been knackered.
