What would be the best thing to plug the ends of these chunky 80's mtb bars? Something in black preferably.

Tried regular bar end plugs but the inner diameter of the bars is too small...

Hello,
I always use Nitto EC. The best there are in my opinion. The EC-02 are for 22.2 internal diameter bars and come with spare rubbers to fit even thinner bars. Highly recommended.

Best regards

In the past I've used rubber stool feet made for stainless steel legs - had a need for some and looking round the cave of chaos had some rubber push fit feet knocking around of a similar diameter. They pushed in ok and stayed put. Got them cheap from Amazon, and they are available in lots of different diameters - and typically only in black. Just an idea.

Shotgun shells, one size or the other usually fits. Pistol casings also make nice covers for tube caps. Beer bottle caps for pedal dust covers. Use silicone caulking as glue (easy to remove) for the pistol rounds for tube caps, glue the shotgun shells in and glue the beer caps to the pedals for emergency dust covers. If you get a flat and have nothing to fix it with jam your shit and u-trough into the tire in place of air. If your frame breaks use a ratchet tie down to hold it together to get you back, that is if you can find one when you need it. Old klunker trick that.
