Band's you wish you'd seen

Genesis before Gabriel left, in particular the Lamb Lies Down on Broadway tour. Had tickets to see Zeppelin in 77 and the show was canceled when Plant's son died. Would like to see Audience if they decide to tour again, and Van der Graaf Generator with Nic Potter back in the fold (although I've seen Pete and Nic play together already). Other than that, I've seen everyone I wanted to see.

I got into the Pixies just before they split and I was gutted that I'd never get to see them (a reunion wasn't exactly likely either). They reformed years later and started gigging again and I saw them at the Manchester Apollo - to this day the best gig I've ever seen.
The Futureheads were supporting and I flipping managed to miss them, though
. It was a nice evening so I was outside the pub nextdoor with a pint in my hand thinking "I'll go in when I hear the Futureheads."
Managed to miss:
Nirvana at Newcastle on their first UK tour.
Tori Amos at Middlesbrough on her first UK tour.
Countless British Sea Power gigs as they're massive these days and rarely play obscure town halls.

Being a 40 something Manc I was lucky enough to have seen most of the Manchester bands from the mid eighties onward.
The smiths a few times, including the Palace theatre gig.
Stone Roses I would say twenty times? the early gigs were the best, Including a free gig at The Ritz and the first International 1.

In 1993, while walking along Manchester's Oxford Road, I was nearing the University student union building when it occurred to me that I hadn't seen any live bands for quite a while. Then I remembered that I'd never really heard of any of the bands that I'd seen advertised.
As I got to the SU building, I checked out the gig posters on the boards outside. "That's exactly what I mean" I said to myself. "There's a band I've never heard of and will probably never hear of again. I'm not going to blow £5 on them."
And the name of the band that I could have seen at one of their very first gigs with an audience of less than 100 people for £5? :cry:
