Band's you wish you'd seen

Hmm...

Nirvana.

Fun Loving Criminals.

Fine Young Cannibals

James

Metallica before they got old.

Queen

The Who

ELO

Marillion

Pink Floyd

And a modern one that isn't the same now the original drummer died.

Avenged Sevenfold

Apart from the obvious bands I missed because I wasn't old enough/born at the time, I've seen most of the bands that really mattered to me but on reflection regret missing out on some gigs that I COULD have been at if I'd put my mind to it.

Smiths (in 84-86 you were in the U2 camp or the Smiths camp. I was in the U2 camp)
Sisters of Mercy (Eldritch/Hussey/Marx/Adams lineup - did see a later one though)
Nirvana - just to say I say them but always preferred Mudhoney at the time.
+1 for House of Love - they played my Uni when I was on year abroad - when I got back, Bickers had left.

However can't complain, I have seen many very special gigs in my life including many by bands that are on peoples lists in this thread.

Oasis when they were in their prime. I.E. 1996.

After missing out on seeing them at the Hacienda earlier in the year - turned up but didn't get in, I had a ticket to see them at Manchester Uni in Nov. 94 and had to miss it as job came through in Denmark.

Saw them at Roskilde festival the following summer and KB Hallen in Copenhagen the year after. Thought even by then that I'd missed the boat with them already.

Love to have seen Hendrix, Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple and Pink Floyd missed them all as I didn't get into them until it was too late. (I applied for Zepplin tickets for the O2 but didn't win). I'd have like to have seen Tangerine Dream and the Happy Mondays too.

I did get to see Queen at the Kind of Magic Tour in Wembley in '86 - it was my first ever concert so everything else that followed couldn't compare.

Mate, the amount of Air Time they get over here you'd think they were still going.. :?

Umm... Pretty sure they are still going!

Carcass and Queen/Michael Jackson. You are clearly a man of contrast....

Saw Carcass a few times in the late 80s/early 90s, including once at the legendary Gibus club i Paris. They were always good for a laugh.

I appreciate good musicianship!
I did actually see a reformed Carcass with different drummer at Bloodstock a couple of years back but I don't think it really counts!
