Hello mrjrcallahan, nice frame.

Can you have a look at the decal at the bottom of the seat tube below the front mech band and tell me what it says and what colour it is please.

:)
Is that not the close up shots in the bottom left
Of the original images I posted? Sorry wasn't exactly sure where you meant??
Let me know if that's the one or you want me to find another
Thanks

No, that's the Reynolds decal and the GVO'D decal at the top of the seat tube. The one I mean is at the bottom near the chainset. It should mention BS6102. Please tell me the details and the colour of the decal.

Best regards

That's a Raleigh 531c 'Race' which was available as a frameset only from the frameset catalogue. It wasn't built by Gerald O'Donovan, all that decal means is that it was made whilst he was in charge. Here's a link to mine that I had a while ago, now sadly sold :( .

Yours is definitely not rare, they come up on ebay fairly often and aren't worth a huge amount. If I was you I'd tidy it up and keep it as they ride really nice. Hope this helps :)

Nice. Do you mind me asking how much you got for it?
I haven't yet seen one with the same paint job, I love the yellow fading to white.

Yes, what colour is the bottom sticker, Gold or Silver?

Sadly it's not a proper 'Nana' :(

And the values of the old 531c's has dropped recently as I have a permanent eBay search going for 'Raleigh Banana' (being a wee bit of a nut on them).
A very tidy 531c Banana Limited Edition sold two weeks ago on eBay. Originally the seller had it down for £199.99 on a buy-it-now and it didn't sell, he then upped the price to £249.99 on buy-it-now with a starting auction bid of £189.99.......it sold for £189.99.
Admittedly it was on collection only, but you see what the going rate is on these. I only got £150 for my beloved example when I sold it 6 years ago, so with the benefit of hindsight I would certainly say hang onto it.

A number of these yellow and white Raleighs have turned up as 'Raleigh Bananas' usually because people have re-stickered them thinking they have been unstickered race bikes. The reason behind this is because once Raleigh stopped producing bikes for Banana, the sponsorship moved over to Falcon, and for a couple of years Falcon made the 'Banana' team bikes. These were even shonkier versions of the bikes that Raleigh produced for the general market, but were in the new Falcon colours of yellow and white.
People not in the know then stickered the old yellow and white Raleigh frames as 'Bananas' thinking that the colour scheme was correct, especially as most Internet searches take you to the Raleigh version of the team if you stick in 'Team Banana'.

Essentially if it's not yellow and black it's not a Team Raleigh Banana.

And yours also seems to have non-original STi shifters on it rather than the aero brake levers and downtube shifters, so it's a bit of a mish-mash, but still a lovely heart of what could be a superb bike for many years with a bit of TLC.

This was sold as a frame only - not as a bike, so it's hard to say what was original. If someone bought it and left it in their loft for a few years before building it up, STI could be original

(I've got an M-Trax Ti1000 that was new, still boxed and un-built when I bought it some years later, so my 'original' build includes 9-speed XT M760 and Rock Shox SID Races).

Eek, now you're asking - possibly £200? I've seen them as low as £80 in not great condition, I'd have said mine was at the top end as the components and wheels were like new.
