Sadly it's not a proper 'Nana'
And the values of the old 531c's has dropped recently as I have a permanent eBay search going for 'Raleigh Banana' (being a wee bit of a nut on them).
A very tidy 531c Banana Limited Edition sold two weeks ago on eBay. Originally the seller had it down for £199.99 on a buy-it-now and it didn't sell, he then upped the price to £249.99 on buy-it-now with a starting auction bid of £189.99.......it sold for £189.99.
Admittedly it was on collection only, but you see what the going rate is on these. I only got £150 for my beloved example when I sold it 6 years ago, so with the benefit of hindsight I would certainly say hang onto it.
A number of these yellow and white Raleighs have turned up as 'Raleigh Bananas' usually because people have re-stickered them thinking they have been unstickered race bikes. The reason behind this is because once Raleigh stopped producing bikes for Banana, the sponsorship moved over to Falcon, and for a couple of years Falcon made the 'Banana' team bikes. These were even shonkier versions of the bikes that Raleigh produced for the general market, but were in the new Falcon colours of yellow and white.
People not in the know then stickered the old yellow and white Raleigh frames as 'Bananas' thinking that the colour scheme was correct, especially as most Internet searches take you to the Raleigh version of the team if you stick in 'Team Banana'.
Essentially if it's not yellow and black it's not a Team Raleigh Banana.
And yours also seems to have non-original STi shifters on it rather than the aero brake levers and downtube shifters, so it's a bit of a mish-mash, but still a lovely heart of what could be a superb bike for many years with a bit of TLC.
