....he says it's his dream bike and is worth £100,000 to him so not really a for sale add IMHO. As the Mastercard add says, Priceless :D

Hello mrjrcallahan, nice frame.

Can you have a look at the decal at the bottom of the seat tube below the front mech band and tell me what it says and what colour it is please.

:)
Is that not the close up shots in the bottom left
Of the original images I posted? Sorry wasn't exactly sure where you meant??
Let me know if that's the one or you want me to find another
Thanks

It's the pic of the decal under the front mech but above the bottom bracket on the seat tube which has been requested.

I guess it will be an "equipped by Shimano" sticker but could be wrong. :)

I'm no raleigh expert, but from what I've read here on RB doesn't the "GODV" sticker under the "531c" sticker mean it was built by Gerald O Donovan himself?

I'm sorry but I'm pretty much a layman, so please; what the f is the front mech?
Apologies

The front mechanism is the device above the chainrings which moves in and out to switch the chain from the small chainwheel to the large chainwheel.

Usually activated by the lever on the downtube on the left :D

That's a Raleigh 531c 'Race' which was available as a frameset only from the frameset catalogue. It wasn't built by Gerald O'Donovan, all that decal means is that it was made whilst he was in charge. Here's a link to mine that I had a while ago, now sadly sold :( .

Yours is definitely not rare, they come up on ebay fairly often and aren't worth a huge amount. If I was you I'd tidy it up and keep it as they ride really nice. Hope this helps :)
