Axles for 130 mm rear

hi,
just getting to grips with my Dawes rebuild; rear wheels axle has snapped. the dropouts are 130 wide, so a no go on 135 mm mtb wheel ( dont want to pay for a redish).

so where can i source a good axle from. halfords is asking £12.99 for one; this is a cheap rebuild i can tell you! i want cheap as chips.

is it a nutted or hollow QR axle?

its nuts, that does take me back!
could i put in a quick release axle?

would i need to remove the screw on freewheel to put the axle in?
