Avid SD5 levers with XT parallel push brakes?

Hey everyone, I'm about to start chopping and changing bits around on my bike and wondering if anyone knows any reason not to use SD5 levers with XT parallel push brakes? It will only be an interim solution, I'm just not too keen on the dual control levers currently fitted. Can't imagine it will be a problem but if anyone thinks it will give me rubbish power/feel let me know! Cheers

Any V-lever and brake combination will work. The only thing to do is start with the little speed dial adjusters turned so that the cable is as far from the bars / lever pivot as possible
