Avid cable stop/guide help

Hi all. I’ve just picked up an old Jamie Tomkins jump bike that I’m tidying up and mess about on.

The bikes fitted with Avid cable disc brakes (I think Bb7), but one of them is missing the little metal cable guide that the cable outer stops at when it meets the caliper.

The metal guide is then fitted with a rubber boot at either side of the caliper arm.

Does anyone have any ideas on where I could find one please? I’ve searched high and low on the web. The boots are readily available, but the metal tube steamy appear to be rather annoyingly.

Has the other caliper got one? Can you take a pic if it? Only thing I can think of is you mean the cable barrel adjuster??

Ah I see. Would a regular cable barrel adjuster not sit in there ok?

What about something like this...?


Maybe someone has a knackered old calliper somewhere with That bit still on it....

Ive ghetto fixed it for now so will see how it works and if no good I’ll order one of those up and see if it works.

Quick update - the previous owners just come back to me to say he’s found the original missing one on his garage floor, so all sorted
