Austro-Daimler Super Leicht 1978

I like Austro-Daimlers. Their looks and - more importantly - their geometry are very much to my taste. RItvo and Manning did a great job when they spec'd these bikes. And Steyr-Puch building them. Pity they were never sold in Europe.

My Inter-10 is probably the bike I made most miles on:

It's always a good day when parts show up. Things that arrived today are a Campagnolo Record Triple bottom bracket and nice set of stainless steel top tube cable clamps from Velo-Heaven in the UK.

The clamps impressed me as they have been through a parts tumbler and have a nice finish and as you would expect are free of sharp edges and burr free also come with all stainless hardware.

Well that's it for tonight and more frame prep for tomorrow.

Wishing Everyone A Happy And Productive weekend: Mike

It looks like assembly has started...
The new Campagnolo Record headset was installed after paint removal of the mating faces of the head tube, putting a small radius on the id of the head tube, and good clean.

Everything pressed up very nicely and is dead square. The final adjustment is smooth and silky.

Next up is a chase and face for the bottom bracket, a bit of deburr, cleanup, and assembly of the new bottom bracket.

Have A Great Day: Mike

As a young man, I drank and howled at the moon.
As a old man, I drink coffee and work on bicycles.

Chased and faced. The bottom bracket cleaned up nicely, threads are at better than 90%, and the facing trued up well with very little material loss as the caliper photo will show. It's been a good and productive day as the build continues.

Have A Wonderful Sunday: Mike
