Hummer. I'd let them design a new version of the original Humvee.
With that I an invade those countries that don't join the New World Orde ... ermm ... Recovery Authority and seize their resources.

So, basically a Lambo?

Suzuki,
They just seem to have a knack for ENGINEERING vehicles that do a specific job very well.

ahh but their build quality's crap

would need to be somthing without electronics

honda is all good and well...but fiat are proven to be able to withstand apocalyptic conditions, after all a lada is just a rebadged 126.

and that's selling the idea to us?

Don't see many Ladas about...

Erm, does NOBODY watch Top Gear...?

Obviously, there's only 1 car for the job and that's the Toyota Hilux ;)

No need to develop a new car when an old one will do  :

The roads will be shit, so it'll have to be a car with good suspension, preferably with adjustable ride height.

Citroen it is then.

You talk about poor build quality and then choose a landrover
I've off roaded suzukis in the past and you rarely see one leaving site not under it's own steam.
Most landys don't make lunch time with out needing a drive shaft or two.
Thats the point with suzuki, if you try to do things they're not made to do they don't like it. But they will do what they're intended to do with minimum fuss.
If landrover were the only manufacturer left I'd buy some hiking boots.

A friend of mine (username 'DeliHustler') used to quite regularly tow Defenders, Freeloaders(sp) and Disco's out of trouble when they got stuck, using his Mitsubishi Delica.

Does he own and drive hustlers as well, or is that his favourite magazine?

He's more of a Razzle man ;)

The Hustler bit refers to his bike - A Cove Hustler... See, clever! ;)
