I have some Ariel Bicycle Works Hubs that I have someone interested in purchasing, but I have not clue as to their value. From what little I have found, they are quite rare. Ariel was a company based in Littleton, CO and was only in the bike industry for 5 or 6 years.
From searching this site, there was a pair sighted in a Spring of 1994 Mountain Bike Action magazine article entitled "Hubs and Kisses". But judging by the logo on my hubs, I think that mine are a year or two newer. In the article, the rear hub is priced at $185. The front hub (given the description of "suspension hub") does not have a price listed but my guess would be around $85 to $90 which is in line with other boutique hubs of the time.
I have checked on bikepro.com and they have them in their system but without a price.
That all said, what is a fair price for them now?
