Dirt Disciple
Picked up this nice lightweight 653 frame which looks to have been resprayed by Argos at some point. Im hoping someone here might be able to give me some clue as to potential brand/frame builder?

Cant seem to see a serial unfortunately.

Nice teardrop filed lug work and fastback stays.

Any help appreciated!!

Re:

Could be one of their own.

There's not many makers who don't leave a serial number either on the BB, dropout or forks steerer tube, unfortunately.

Re:

Thanks for the info so far. I’ve started to disassemble and found It has Campagnolo fork dropouts but nothing on the frame. Will check the steerer tube for a serial today and I will contact Argos. Cheers!

Re:

UPDATE: Had the frame shot blasted for respray and it revealed the double digit serial number 22 on both the bottom bracket and steerer tube.

Does this point towards any u.k builder perhaps?

Still hoping someone might be able to add something

Re:

Not too much unfortunately.

“It's always tricky to identify frames like this, it's a lovely frame but doesn't have any distinctive features to make a manufacturer come to mind”

This was before the serial was revealed so could perhaps get back in touch

Re:

Apologies for the repetition but still wondering if anyone might have any extra info since the discovery of the frame serial number.

Did any u.k makers (or any others for that matter) employ a two digit number system?

Thanks I’m advance.
