Argos BSO price madness

I tried to get a child's BSO working yesterday which isn't funny. Changing gear at the back altered the chain line so much it threw the chain off at the front.

Any ideas what to do?[/quote]

do you have a lake or canal nearby?

Dont throw it in the lake...dont want to get my fishing line caught in it

one good thing about having the English Channel a mile south of me,plenty of hiding space!

looks like the best type of bike for suspension fork. Shit on shit. I'm sure some one will be happy with it

thats the thing that gets me

everyone seems to be an expert on the newest types of tv or the newest mobile phone etc. but when it comes to bikes there is just no research or effort to find out where theyre money is going

We get called bikes snobs if we do.

yeah its true
i find it really odd though that this 'snobbery' doesnt apply to anything else we buy

i like shoes so i have a few pairs and get told 'you love shoes'
ok admittedly i do but i know that those shoes that i now have will last me far longer than the one or two pairs that people have (and in turn they replace them every year, maybe less)

its economical
i certainly wouldnt spend £300 on something i knew nothing about

Remove the freewheel, redish the back wheel and put a BMX freewheel in instead?

Failing that, an old front mech screwed in so it holds the chain on?

The worst thing about these bikes is they make people think cycling is hard. Places like this really do their customers a disservice.

Apart from the fact that Argos is more expensive than most high street stores, a fair part of that price will be for the "privilege" of licensing the Reebok name.
