So bought this Dawes Horizon last week. 531st, under a paint bubble this turns up.

This is a after a week of fettling and degunking!

a sewing needle sized hole in frame.

Bloody bikes are a cruel mistress some days!

That's a shame, always a bummer after you start working on it, getting more enthused as you go along. Then, boom, a problem, usually not that big an issue but in some cases such as yours, its a real let down.
What's the plan? replace the tube?

Bob Jackson even, im looking at 200+ to replace tube and respray, worried though if tube is bad there, are there more gremlins?

Think its new frame time and swap the bits.

That will twist and fail for others reading - replace or scrap. Will make a nice wind chime.

It's either new frame off the bay or new down tube from bj. New frame is the cheaper option.
