Are you retro beyond bikes???

Actually now that i think of it....i sold that Mk2 to buy a Datsun 180b that had been stripped out for bush runs. The holy trinity of bush beater/street cars in australia in the 80/90's were the Mazda Rx4 the MK2 and the 180b

nice, looks like a vb series yeah? - i used to have a MkII that was built in Sydney near where i used to live - one of the last 1980 ones too from memory...really do miss taking that thing bush!

Thanks, it has a YB engine yes.
Do you mean you had a series 2 RS turbo with the 1.6 CVH turbo? These where made up to 1990. I've had a few of these. The MKII was made between (1975-80). But yes, a lot of fun!

yeah it was the 1.6L, 4spd GL sedan variant. built in the homebush plant. We used to strip them out and take them up into the blue mountains fire trails for weekends on end, nowdays there are way too many rangers and people on mountain bikes to do it safely anymore.

I collect retro games consoles - the bulk of my music taste sits firmly in the period retro MTB's originate from too.

Nice! - i have lovingly kept my Mega Drive and Super Famicom too!

Seems there are a few common tastes around here....escorts and cartridge consoles.

I build very low vee-dubs...

I'm into OEM myself, with a few litres of H2O added for good measure.
