Are you more respecting in your old age ?

i'll echo what most here have said. respect of my bikes hasn't changed. i've always taken care not to destroy things.

however, i take more care in riding for myself then before. not that i ever did anything too crazy, but i am concerned of killing or maiming myself. :p

Interesting thread, I suppose I ride my bikes and motorbikes sympathetically still thrashing them but keeping them in one piece. I am very aware the if I get hurt it is taking longer to heal. I have noticed that my performance characteristics have change, I can go longer and just about as hard as when I was younger, fuel efficient I think you'd say 4 - 6 hour rides no problem.

BTW hope there's some nice ladies reading this  x

.

i dont ride with such carefree anymore, falling off just seems to hurt more nowdays, plus dont wanna do anything stupid and have to phone up work to explain why i cant come in.

I started taking more care when my dependants were born.

Yep, myself included and I also always wear a helmet since the kids came along.

Also its always in the back of my mind that I'm not 9 stone anymore when it comes to jumps and stuff. It's not really out of respect for my bikes but a growing fear of faceplants. ;)

I tend to look after my bikes better now (this is probably due to the fact I can now afford too..), and have seemed to have become totally fearless in my near middle ageness..

Have always respected my bike as I got it before I started driving & it cost more than my first car:LOL: Saying that I always rode it hard :D These days I don't take the risks I used to as like others i've got kids & with bad tendinitis is several joints & connective tissue probs a big off could mean month on crutches & poss having to give up the bike all together :(

..lol

i ride as hard and fast as i used too,( In my mind) sadly its a lot slower, than i used to be........lol, i certainly dont take anything for granted any more, and as much as i hate to admit it, i do seem to spend an age cleaning it when i finished on a long muddy ride,. inc cleaning amber wall sided tyres.............with jif..........god im getting far too old... :(
