Evening all: a few years ago I bought a Race Guard: the current version with the alloy disc in the mounting bracket. Not to put too fine a point on it, it was bobbins. No matter how tight the thing was, it drooped. And little looks sadder than a droopy Raceguard.
In that it was only 16 quid I simply binned the thing and got on with my life, albeit a bit dirtier around the arse area than I would have liked.
returning to proper mountain biking as I have these last few months I would like to keep the aforementioned bit dry, and short of finding a Mk2 Raceguard for my Rift Zone, or, getting something even uglier I'd LIKE to use a raceguard.
The question is this: Are they now reliably stout and firm, standing proud of a chap's ( or chapess's) seatpost and rear tyre? ( or indeed did I not mount the thing properly, though I find it hard to believe even I could get that wrong )
Thanks for any and all opinions.
(And no I am not going to Person up and get a soggy bottom, I'm an old man. )
