are gt lobo`s getting harder to find?

i have a lovely sts 1000ds right now but really would like to try a lobo but finding a frame is all i want really, alloy or carbon 16.5 is ideal as i`m only 5ft 8 and like my bikes a little smaller, its the same old story when i have the cash nothing is around but when i do find what i`m looking for well you know the cost of bills and living etc, reckon i should start up a lobo fund as these things are`nt cheap and can`t bring myself to sell my much loved sts ds, i really want to put up a load of pics for all to enjoy but sadly the jpegs seem to be too big and can`t resize :( well if any of you seen my sts it would raise alot of eyebrows as i haven`t seen 1 as customly well fought out like mine, its mint! :D

There is one on ebay at the moment, I started reading up on them ... Few horror stories ??

Dont know much about them myself, they seem quite a bit different to the LTS, i think they may have a high price tag due to some bloke called Steve Peat :)

lobo

although i havent done much homework on the subject the 1 for sale on ebay is alloy, although i have an sts myself that has seen sum action in its time, i think the alloy 1 would be stronger, no offence but how heavy were the riders that broke them, depends how you ride i suppose as i`ve even snapped a couple bmx forks from the bottom of headtube and i`m 5ft8 9 1/2 stone soakin wet :D

Lobo's

A local LBS who has been a GT agent for ages has a nice collection of broken Lobo frames. They all seemed to break behind the BB on the seat stay. I believe the leverage was too high in this area. After two breaks under warranty, most owners elected for a reduced cash setlement!

not short of rear end spares then i suppose. i`ve always wanted 1, does the faulty seat stay/bottom bracket apply to the alloy version too just curious as i think i would steer away from the carbon 1`s

Lugs

Not the Carbon that cracks, but the alloy lugs. I believe the alloy frames had the same fault, too much leverage at the bearing pivot. This is why not many about now.
