Are Brodies recyclable? **UPDATED**

Dirt Disciple
Driving home last night (garbage day the next day), i noticed a bike frame leaning up against a recycling bin. Wouldn't have looked twice if it wasn't for the "b" decal from the fork glowing under a ray of street-light. I ran over with an intense paramedic-like reaction to save what would have been a crushed and lost forever Brodie Sovereign. What I rescued that night, was a crusty, rusty, neglected piece of Canadian MTB history that was destined to be restored back to its original glory.

Updated - Fresh powdercoat, and new decals thanks to Rockimtn!!

Re: Are Brodies recyclable?

What kind of monster would throw away a Brodie?
That is a really nice score! Some nice parts on it too.

Re: Are Brodies recyclable?

So far i've stripped it down, barely got the BB and stem out. Rear brake cable did not want to slide through the cable guide without some force. What would be a good pre-paint treatment to the frame for rust?

Does anyone recognize the crankset? Non driveside arm is toast - was loose on the sprindle.

Re: Are Brodies recyclable?

The crank-set looks like a Grafton. Too bad the non drive side is busted...
The fork alone is money, the seat-post looks like it could be a Syncros titanium.

Re: Are Brodies recyclable?

Grafton Joy Stick cranks.
I may be interested in the driveside, what's it like?!
