Are all Specialized direct drive forks equal?

I am looking for a direct drive fork for my 1992 M2 Team.

Interested to know whether all the direct drive forks of that time are equal in construct, materials and weight?

Even the Epic Ultimate says it has a chromoly fork on it.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Cheers,
Ryan

If the catalogue is to be believed, then the answer is: no, they're not all the same. The Stumpjumpers had 'Tange bulge butted forks', the Rockhoppers had 'bulge butted' forks (not 'Tange'), the Hardrock and Hardrock Ultra had 'Full Chromoly' forks (no butts mentioned, bulging or otherwise!), and the Hardrock Sport has a 'Direct Drive' fork made of who-knows-what (unspecified). Presumably, there are variations in weight, but I've never had a Specialized earlier than 1994, so can't confirm.
