Anyone want to display there ride at the cycle show (NEC)

Re: Re:

my plan really would be to have the high end bikes that we longed for when we were younger and also the everyday rides for everyday people to show u can still ride a great bike on a budget and some raced bikes as well

So why do they need a story and a list of bikes for them to be selective about.
They should just trust 'us'.
Personally it's nice to show some weird bikes for fun, but it would be better show everyday bikes that everyday people had and a few bikes that where raced. All that where available easily within the UK.

But then it's not my show to get you to buy the latest bikes with a museum nicity added on.

Where's the glorious vit t Tim :)....

Had to be sold to fund the Yeti build, it was a similar ride and spec as the Merlin so one had to go and the Merlin is the last bike I'd part with

Just had this thread brought to my attention.

Provisionally sounds a good idea as long as the show doesn't mandate what is shown overly. A retrobike stand / area with a nice collection of retro machines would be a fine idea.

Think a lot of the types working at and attending such shows have been around long enough such that any bikes on display will be treated with interest rather than ridicule. Certainly when we did displays at MM for a few years they went down well.

Anyhow will keep an eye on this and am happy to lend assistance when required nearer the time.

Re:

Maybe we could get a RetroBIKE clothing order together John, would be good publicity mate.

Just a thought

Re:

Subject to the number of bikes we can display, how about a significant bike from each year between 1980 and 2000?
Members could vote via poll to decide which bike from each year to be displayed. Just a thought, as it would help demonstrate progression across the 2 decades.

my job at the moment is to sell us lol as a display they can use and cannot say no to and that what the public will enjoy.
was thinking as well we could offer some classes in may be restoration, servicing of old kit and where to pick up a project or retro ride
