Thanks for replys, yes paypal gives you protection but im not prepared to take paypals fees,
Im not fussed at all if it sells as its a lovely peice of kit and if someone
Did buy it then i would probably diliver it anyway with a deposit.

The bowti isnt to everyones taste but its in a class of its own in design and function.

It's all a matter of personal aesthetic taste. In all honesty I wouldn't pay half a grand for one - my original comment cast no aspersions about the integrity of the frame or the seller!

And I'm sorry if you were offended. Considering the bike's previous thread here, I'll take back my words about "dodgy sales".

However I would only pay such figures with PayPal or face to face. For the security reasons mentioned earlier.

And as for the conversion ... I still stand by my earlier words as well. It's a bike designed in the V-brake era, and there were so few of them made that I really feel like it's a shame to modify it for discs.
And that's coming from someone who wouldn't think twice about putting a 2012 XTR kit on rare old bikes. It's just that modifications to such a rare frame really bother me.

The V brake to me makes the lines look wrong but like any handmade bike
Im sure Mr Potts could weld some lugs on with ease and remove the disc tab, saying that everyone who has done rear disc mod think it looks better

Funny thing is i put dtswiss forks on bike and people say it should
Be rock shock sids and its not the xtr from x year so it wil never please everyone on any build or mod you do so i just ignore it. )

I've not seen a frame like that before - it must rank top weirdness alongside the one that has cables instaed of tubes.

There are many variants but ultimately frames will end up being 2 triangle as invented by the Victorians since that is the optimum design - unusual designs are interesting neverthless.

Too much anality goes into bikes in my view. So what if its not 100% as it left the bike shop.

Re. payment protection worries:
Fund the bank transfer via a credit card, then you have all the muscle of Visa etc. behind you.

As an aside:
Anyone who thinks that PayPal offers any real protection is dreaming. I am currently forced to pursue a fraudulent Ebay seller through the court system; His PayPal address and account info are fake (registered to a community center building); Speaking with PP yesterday, they refused to help in any way until the subpoena arrives from the court (which it will do, but could take months).
