Ibis Bow Ti titanium frame , less than 280 ever made by ibis,

As much as I like the weirdness of the Bowtie, I'd avoid this one.

I don't care if Steve Potts did the mods or if it was Bob the plumber, but putting disc tabs on that frame should be rewarded with capital punishment.

Also : bank transfer only? For a £2.4K frame (and that's just the starting bid) ?
Sounds dodgy. Keep in mind that you don't have PayPal's security that way.

I like weird..but then I like whyte prst-1's and slingshots :D

But agree would avoid this one

I have read some crap in my times "avoid this one"
If you looked on the forum you would see it is a bike that
Has been on the forum showing it being built and when it came
Back from Steve Potts.
i dont see a problem on not using paypal a there fees as so high even paypal
Is a rip off and its only put on as a free listing

Also a note on the tabs being removed is a modification a lot of bowti
Owners have done as this cleans the lines of the bike and gives
Better braking, again of the few bowti bikes in the UK most now have
This done to them.

And yes the bike is mine.

I'll happily vouch for all of that. These bikes are rare, are beautifully made and work superbly. They use the natural flex in titanium to create a 5" travel bike without the need for pivots.

At the time these were one of the most expensive frames available at north of $3600 or £3000 when imported into the UK. They were very rare when new back in 1997 and only about 270 were made, far fewer ever making it over here.

The rear brake is a standard change that most owners make on these, extending the everyday usability of these for another decade for the owners. These are not only retro bikes but superb regular riders and no garage queens.

Steve Potts is the only guy worth getting to do the work. His skills beat any UK Ti welder hands down and works in conjunction with John Castellano, the designer of these bikes, to make sure everything is done properly. John even goes as far as to X-ray and scan the frames to ensure there are no weaknesses in the frames before and after the mod. His work isn't cheap but is amazing. John and Steve will even build you a brand new one of these if you have a spare $6500.

The problem is they are so rare that they often the subject of fake auctions and adverts just like merlin newsboys so they often get treated with caution.

As for the seller; he's a regular on here, has a build thread on this bike, has previously listed this bike for sale on here. One to trust - hell yeah!

Oh, and I have one too:

It usually pays to think something through fully before jumping to the keyboard.

Most conflicts on the site are caused by not doing so.

I like your frame, it's nice and with history.. but, unless your a blood relative or some one I know and trust then yes I still maintain ...buggered if I would do a bank transfer for 2 and a half grand with no buyer protection. I'm sorry if that offends you but honestly I think it would be a consideration for some buyers.

I hope your sale goes well

What a beautiful frame! The details... wow Wish i had the money (buys lotteryticket....  ) Good luck with the sale!!
